PUNJABI MOBILE MECHANICS PTY LTD T/a Lawnton Autos & Tyre Shop, located at 4/11 Walter Crescent, Lawnton (QLD, 4501), is current seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to join their team. This is a full time role working 38 hours per week.
Applicants must:- Have an Australian recognised trade qualification Cert III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle) or equivalent.
- Have at least 1 years of relevant experience.
- Have Open Driver License
Duties and Responsibilities:- Assist in opening, preparing the workstations and closing the workshop.
- Use diagnostic tools and scanning equipment to identify faults in engine and electronic components.
- Assess vehicles to accurately diagnose and repair mechanical issues such as dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components for inspection and repair.
- Assist in roadworthy inspections and perform necessary checks.
- Liaise with clients to understand their automotive requirements and communicate vehicle defects or issues.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections such as, including oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups and inform customers of potential concerns.
- Provide detailed estimates for repairs and replacement obtaining customer approval before proceeding with work such as gasket, Coolant, Flushes, Clutches, Gearbox, Spark Plug, Fluid Replacements and many more parts.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles based on diagnosed issues and repair estimates.
- Tyre fitting, Tyre Balancing and flat tyre repair.
- Test drive vehicles post-repair to ensure mechanical soundness and identify any additional problems.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all repair and maintenance work performed.
- Keep the workshop, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and in proper working condition.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety (OHS) regulations and best practices.
A salary between $79,500 -$82,500 will be offered to the successful candidate.
