Longview Construction Nominees Pty Ltd ATF Alpha Blue Family Trust / Ferguson Blocklaying Darwin is seeking experienced and reliable Blocklayers to join our team working across commercial, residential, civil, and Defence-related construction projects throughout the Northern Territory.
This is a full-time position involving the construction, repair, and installation of brick and block structures in accordance with project specifications, construction drawings, and Australian building standards.
Responsibilities include:- Lay concrete blocks, bricks, and other masonry materials to construct and repair walls, partitions, retaining walls, and other structures
- Read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and material requirements
- Measure and mark reference points to ensure accurate alignment and positioning of masonry work
- Mix, spread, and apply mortar using hand and power tools
- Cut, shape, and trim bricks and blocks to required sizes and specifications
- Ensure all masonry work is completed to a high standard of workmanship and structural accuracy
- Maintain compliance with workplace health and safety procedures and site safety requirements
- Work effectively within a team environment alongside supervisors, tradespersons, and other construction personnel
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and clean condition
- Assist with general masonry and construction site duties as required
To be successful, candidates must have a relevant Cert III qualification in Bricklaying/Blocklaying and 1 year's experience or at least 3 years of relevant full-time work experience to substitute qualifications.
Applicants will also have:- Demonstrated experience in bricklaying and blocklaying on commercial and/or residential construction projects
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and technical drawings
- Construction White Card
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a construction environment
- Ability to perform physically demanding manual work
- Working at Heights and/or EWP tickets
- Defence clearance or ability to obtain
- Current Driver's Licence
A salary of $75,000 - $90,000 will be offered to the successful candidates.
