About the Role
As a baker at Bakers Delight, you will play an essential role in preparing and baking bread loaves, rolls, buns, cakes, biscuits, and pastry goods. You will be responsible for measuring and mixing ingredients according to recipes and quality standards and ensure all baked products are prepared fresh daily while maintaining hygiene and food safety regulations. You will also assist in decorating pastries and cakes, monitoring oven temperatures, and maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
Key Responsibilities:- Preparing and baking bread loaves, rolls, buns, cakes, biscuits, and pastry goods at Bakers Delight.
- Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and production schedules.
- Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients.
- Kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods.
- Preparing pastry fillings.
- Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times
- Coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products.
- Decorate and finish cakes, pastries, and baked goods as required.
- Glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing
- Operating machines which roll and mould dough and cut biscuits.
- Emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment.
- Check stock levels and assist with storing ingredients and supplies properly.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production targets.
- Ensure all products are presented attractively and meet company quality standards
Minimum Requirements:- At least 1 year of previous experience as a Baker.
- Qualification: A Certificate III in baking / Certificate IV in baking or equivalent.
- Knowledge of preparing and baking bread loaves, rolls, buns, cakes, biscuits, and pastry goods allergen handling.
- Strong team handling skills and ability to manage work pressure in a fast-paced environment
