We are currently searching for a Carpenter to join our growing team. The successful applicant must be willing to travel daily to Sydney, with occasional interstate travel required. We are looking for someone reliable, motivated, and able to work within a fast-paced commercial construction environment. The main focus of the role will be the construction, erection, installation, renovation and repair of structures and fixtures.
Key responsibilities include:- Assist with demolition, fit-out, and refurbishment works;
- Carry out commercial carpentry works across retail, hospitality, office and adaptive re-use projects;
- Cleaning up worksite debris;
- Construct and install projects primarily made of wood, plywood, lightweight steel, wallboard and other materials, and cut, shape and fit timber parts to form structures and fittings;
- Ensure that all works are completed to a high standard, on time and within project requirements;
- Identify and report defects, variations or site issues promptly;
- Install framing, cladding, doors, hardware, skirting, ceilings, and detailed finishes;
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment in line with WHS requirements;
- Mentor apprentices and support junior team members as required;
- Move necessary materials around the jobsite as assigned;
- Operate power tools and equipment safely and efficiently;
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and site plans;
- Travel to various Sydney project sites daily, with occasional interstate travel;
- Work collaboratively with Site Managers, subcontractors and other trades on active construction sites.
To be considered you will need:- A relevant Carpentry Certificate III, or equivalent, and including at least 2 years of related employment experience / on-the-job training, OR;
- A relevant Carpentry Certificate IV, or equivalent and at least 1 year of related employment experience, OR;
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
This is a full time position, an immediate start is available. A remuneration package of $80,000 - $90,000 per annum will be offered to the successful candidate.
