Ahrens Group was established over 30 years ago. During this time, the company has gained an outstanding reputation for supplying welding and fabrication services to the petro-chemical and mining industry within the state of Western Australia.
We are currently seeking experienced Cleaners to join the team in full time roles in Port Hedland.
Duties include but are not limited to:- Perform daily cleaning tasks: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, wiping surfaces, changing bedding.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, showers, kitchens, common rooms, and crib rooms using appropriate and retrospective chemicals.
- Empty and dispose of waste bins including managing recycling initiatives
- Clean windows, mirrors, glass partitions, and internal fixtures
- Perform telephone cleaning & germ proofing
- Dusting of internal hard surfaces
- Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, report any faults, hazards or shortages
- Ensure all cleaning chemicals and equipment are stored and labeled correctly in accordance with Safety data sheet (SDS) and site requirements.
- Refer to safety data sheet (SDS) for all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
- Follow established cleaning schedules and protocols
- Report any hazards, damage, or maintenance issues promptly
- Assist in special cleaning projects such as deep cleans, post-event cleanup, etc.
- Liaising with clients and interacting with other employees, contractors and client personnel as required in a respectful manner.
- Treat all equipment in a professional and dutiful manner at all times.
- Ensure cleaning storage areas are kept in a safe and tidy condition demonstrating initiative and proactively executing duties
- Ensure all areas are marked with correct signage such as wet floor signs.
- Ability to understand procedure requirements
Those taking on a supervisory role will also be responsible for:- Supervising and coordinating cleaning staff across shifts and designated areas
- Allocating daily tasks and ensuring workloads are completed efficiently and to standard
- Monitoring staff performance and conducting regular quality inspections
- Providing on-the-job training, guidance, and support to team members
- Managing staff attendance, rostering, and shift coverage
- Acting as the main point of contact between cleaners, clients, and management
- Handling client queries, complaints, and service requests in a timely and professional manner
- Ensuring all team members comply with site procedures, safety requirements, and PPE standards
- Conducting site inductions and reinforcing cleaning protocols and procedures
- Maintaining accurate records, including cleaning logs, incident reports, and stock usage
- Overseeing stock control, ordering supplies, and minimising waste
- Coordinating and overseeing periodic deep cleans and special cleaning projects
- Identifying hazards, implementing corrective actions, and promoting a safe work environment
- Driving continuous improvement in cleaning processes and service delivery
Applicants must have at least 1 year of experience in Cleaning.
Candidates will also have:- Sound understanding of the cleaning industry
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, safe operating procedures, equipment and practices
- Have awareness of and capacity to carry out physical work in climatic such as those that prevail in Pilbara.
- Attention to detail and reliability
- You will expect high standards of presentation and performance in the execution of your tasks
- Must be physical fit to safely execute duties as described herein.
- Must hold current Australian drivers licence
- Must hold current white card for work within the construction industry
- Able to pass and maintain client site inductions
- Able to pass and maintain medical standards as stipulated by both the client and the company
A salary of $80,000 - $100,000 will be offered to the successful applicants.
Must have valid working rights in Australia.
