Palmview Mechanical Repairs (PMR) is a well established automotive repair workshop located on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. The business provides a wide range of vehicle servicing, diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, wheel alignments, suspension repairs, brake repairs, logbook servicing, 4WD servicing and general mechanical services for light vehicles. The workshop is committed to delivering high quality workmanship and reliable customer service.
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for diagnosing faults, servicing and repairing a variety of light vehicles while ensuring work is completed to manufacturer specifications and workplace safety standards.
Your role will include, but is not limited to:- Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in petrol and diesel light vehicles using diagnostic equipment and testing procedures.
- Carrying out scheduled maintenance and logbook servicing in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Repairing and replacing defective engine components, transmission systems, steering mechanisms, suspension systems and braking systems.
- Inspecting, testing and adjusting vehicle systems including engines, fuel systems, ignition systems, cooling systems and exhaust systems.
- Conducting wheel alignments and suspension inspections and repairs.
- Performing brake inspections, repairs and replacements.
- Removing, dismantling and reassembling mechanical components and assemblies.
- Diagnosing and repairing driveline, clutch and gearbox faults.
- Testing vehicles after repair work to ensure roadworthiness and safe operation.
- Maintaining accurate service records, repair reports and workshop documentation.
- Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
- Maintaining workshop tools, equipment and a clean work environment.
Applicants must have a relevant trade qualification AQF Certificate IV with at least one year of relevant experience. Alternatively, at least three years of full-time relevant experience in lieu of a formal qualification.
A salary of $76,515 - $85,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
