  • Boretech Contracting Pty Ltd is a professional and established Civils company based in Perth, SA and NSW. Our primary focus is to install underground infrastructure. We have extensive experience in Telecommunications, Electrical, Gas, Water, and Sewerage.

    We are currently seeking an experienced Telecommunications Technical Officer.

    To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to hold relevant trade qualifications plus one year of experience required, or 3 years' experience without qualification.

    Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
    • Installing, maintaining, repairing and diagnosing malfunctions of microwave, telemetry, multiplexing, satellite and other radio and electromagnetic wave communication systems
    • Configuring and integrating network and telecommunications technology with computer software, hardware, desktops, peripherals, databases and operating systems
    • Developing and recording logs of the details, locations and status of inventories, parts, equipment and instruments and maintaining the documentation of communication policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations, and quality standards
    • Providing technical advice and information, and monitoring the performance of complex telecommunications networks and equipment
    • Providing ongoing operational support in designing, optimizing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing and resolving of telecommunications network performance malfunctions, defects and faults.
    We are also seeking an experienced Telecommunications Field Engineer to join our team.

    You will be responsible for:
    • Review, validate, and approve NBN Node-to-Premises (N2P) design packages using systems such as Konect (Downer) and iBISS (Fulton Hogan and Genus), ensuring compliance with telecommunications engineering guidelines and quality assurance processes.
    • Integrate technical job packs for NBN network infrastructure using SharePoint and GIS tools to ensure precise field crew deployment and resource allocation.
    • Configure and validate digital network artefacts, ensuring newly installed fibre and copper systems meet strict client technical performance standards.
    • Interpret technical drawings and apply accurate markups, including Schedule of Rates (SOR) codes, quantities, and engineering notes to support field construction accuracy.
    • Update and modify network design documentation to reflect field conditions, construction variations, and engineering amendments.
    • Provide specialised technical support to Scoping, FIR (Field Investigation Report), and Construction teams to ensure telecommunications infrastructure is installed and commissioned in accordance with engineering specifications and network standards.
    • Plan customer access network infrastructure by evaluating site readiness and allocating specialised drilling and technical equipment for Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) operations.
    • Supervise technical fault resolution and defect closures, ensuring all installed infrastructure complies with regulatory telecommunications safety and quality protocols.
    • Investigate and resolve technical escalations raised by field technicians, applying diagnostic and analytical skills to ensure safe and effective resolution of network issues.
    • Develop and maintain records of equipment locations, inventory status, and documentation of communication policies, procedures, guidelines, regulations, and quality standards.
    You will need to demonstrate:
    • A minimum of a degree, diploma, in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline OR at least three (3) years of relevant documented experience in a telecommunications field engineering role in lieu of formal qualifications
    • Demonstrated experience in reviewing and validating NBN design packages and telecommunications network documentation.
    • Proficiency in GIS tools, network mapping systems, and telecommunications work order management platforms.
    • Practical knowledge of optical fibre infrastructure, copper network systems, HDD operations, and civil telecommunications construction.
    • Understanding of telecommunications regulatory standards, quality assurance frameworks, and safety protocols applicable to NBN infrastructure deployment.
    In return, we can offer an attractive remuneration package between $79,499 to $90,000 + super. Salary will be dependent on experience level.
