Ultra Ash Pty Ltd T/a Ultra Tune Ashmore, located at BP Workshop, 2 Central Park Ave Ashmore, QLD 4214, is currently seeking 2 full time Motor Mechanics to join our team full time (38 hours a week).
Duties and responsibilities:- Assessing vehicles to accurately diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components for inspection and repair.
- Performing routine vehicle inspections, including oil changes, filter replacements lubrication, and engine tune-ups, and informing customers of potential concerns.
- Liaising with clients to understand their automotive requirements and communicating vehicle defects or issues.
- Conducting repairs and maintenance on vehicles based on diagnosed issues and repair estimates.
- Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks).
- Tyre replaces and balance, wheel alignment and fixed punctured tyres.
- Test driving vehicles post-repair to ensure mechanical soundness and identify any additional problems.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of all repair and maintenance work performed.
- Keeping the workshop, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and in proper working condition.
- Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety (OHS) regulations and best practices
- Provide training or guidance to apprentices and junior staff.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Workshop Manager or Management.
To be successful, applicants must hold a relevant trade qualification or Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, as well as have 1+ years experience as a Mechanic, preferably in automotive.
Candidates will also have:- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
- Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop machinery.
- Sound knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and safe work practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective time management and organizational abilities.
- Physical fitness and capability to perform manual handling tasks and work in various conditions.
- Valid driver's licence (essential).
- Ability to maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
- Commitment to continuous learning and keeping current with industry developments and technology.
A salary of $80,000 - $85,000 will be offered to the successful candidates.
