Midland Industries Pty Ltd are 100% Australian owned and fabricated, specialist manufacturers of Plant and Equipment Trailers, including Dog Trailers, Tag Trailers, Semi-Drop Deck Trailers, Skel Trailers, Skip Bin Transfer Trailers, Road Train Dollies and Custom Trailers.
We are currently looking for Welders / Metal Fabricators and Mechanical Engineers who have genuine interest and passion for the heavy vehicle industry.
Welders / Fabricators: To be considered for this opportunity, you must hold a Cert III in Engineering / Fabrication and have at least 5 years experience in both Welding and Tacking.
You must also:- Have the ability to read workshop drawings
- Show leadership skills and the ability to work as a team member
- Follow instructions given by coordinator
- Be reliable and honest
- Have an understanding of Lean manufacturing
- Be able to fit into a clean, tidy and motivated workshop environment
Remuneration packages between $78,000 - $85,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
Mechanical Engineers - To be considered for this role, you will need to have a relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification and 2-3 years work experience
You will also need to have:- Ability to visualize concepts and generate 3D CAD models from 2D sketches. CREO CAD software knowledge will be a distinct advantage but training will be provided for aspiring candidate.
- Knowledge of Australian standards for design and drafting.
- Understanding of sheet metal fabrication principles and drawings is a key requirement.
- Knowledge of FEA would be a big plus
- Team playing skills and willingness to co-operate with others is a must for this position. Candidate with right mindset will be provided opportunities for personal and professional growth.
- Knowledge of lean techniques will be looked upon favourably.
- Enthusiasm to work in heavy vehicle industry.
- Attention to detail and willingness to take responsibility is crucial for success.
- Excellent language proficiency is required for communication.
Remuneration packages between $80,000 - $100,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
These are full time positions working Monday to Friday with the occasional Saturday required.
