  • Padampur Pty Ltd T/A BONDI GRILL'E COOLANGATTA is seeking a motivated and passionate Chef/Cook to join our busy kitchen team in Coolangatta. This is a full-time opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced restaurant environment and takes pride in preparing high-quality meals while maintaining excellent food safety and kitchen standards.

    Working as part of a collaborative team, you will assist in delivering a consistently high standard of food across lunch and dinner service while contributing to an enjoyable dining experience for our customers.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards.
    • Cook and present grilled meats, seafood, poultry and other menu items with consistency and attention to detail.
    • Assist with the development of new menu items and seasonal specials.
    • Monitor food quality, presentation and portion control.
    • Order, receive and inspect food supplies to ensure freshness and quality.
    • Monitor stock levels, rotate inventory and minimise food waste.
    • Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen in accordance with food safety regulations.
    • Supervise and support kitchen staff, providing guidance where required.
    • Coordinate food preparation during busy service periods to ensure timely meal delivery.
    • Monitor kitchen equipment and report maintenance requirements.
    • Prepare meals to accommodate dietary requirements and food allergies.
    • Maintain accurate food safety, temperature and cleaning records.
    • Work cooperatively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to deliver excellent customer service.
    • Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
    To be successful in this role, you will have:
    • Formal qualification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate III, IV or higher).
    • At least one year of relevant post-qualification experience in a commercial kitchen, or equivalent industry experience.
    • Sound knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation methods and commercial kitchen equipment.
    • A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.
    • Good organisational and time management skills.
    • The ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
    • A positive attitude, reliability and a genuine passion for cooking.
    This is a full time role working 38 hours per week. A remuneration package between $79,500 - $81,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.

    Experience preparing grilled meat and seafood dishes in a busy restaurant environment will be highly regarded.

    This is a hands-on role requiring flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
