We are seeking a motivated and client-focused Finance Broker to join our Sydney-based team. This is a full-time role suitable for a candidate with a strong background in lending, loan settlements, credit assessment, client finance, loan origination or related financial services, who is ready to progress into a dedicated finance broking role.
The successful candidate will work closely with clients, lenders and internal stakeholders to assess borrowing requirements, compare finance options and assist clients through the loan application and approval process. The role offers a clear pathway toward full broker accreditation and increased broker autonomy, with ongoing mentoring and support from senior finance professionals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Finance Broker will be responsible for:- Consulting with clients to assess their financial circumstances, borrowing capacity and lending needs.
- Analysing client financial information, credit profiles and supporting documents to determine suitable lending options.
- Researching and comparing loan products across a panel of lenders to identify appropriate finance solutions.
- Liaising with banks, lenders and financial institutions on behalf of clients.
- Assisting with loan structuring, loan applications, approvals and settlement processes.
- Explaining loan structures, interest rates, fees, repayment options and key lending conditions to clients in a clear and professional manner.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate client files, application records and compliance documentation.
- Coordinating with clients, lenders, brokers and internal teams to progress applications efficiently.
- Building and maintaining client relationships, referral networks and repeat business opportunities.
- Ensuring all client dealings and loan processes are handled in accordance with relevant compliance, privacy and lending requirements.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required
The successful candidate will have:- Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking.
- At least 2 years of experience in lending, loan settlements, loan processing, credit assessment, finance, banking, mortgage broking support or another closely related financial services role.
- Strong understanding of loan products, lending criteria, client borrowing capacity and loan documentation requirements.
- Experience dealing with clients, lenders, brokers and internal finance teams.
- Ability to assess financial information and explain finance options clearly to clients.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple client files and deadlines.
- High attention to detail and a strong understanding of compliance obligations in a lending environment.
- Experience using, or ability to quickly learn, industry systems such as aggregator CRM platforms, ApplyOnline, Quickli and lender servicing calculators.
Suitable Background:
This role would suit a candidate with previous experience in lending, loan origination, settlements, credit assessment, banking, mortgage broking support, financial analysis or client-facing financial services.
The ideal candidate will be relationship-focused, highly organised and motivated to develop into a fully accredited Finance Broker. The role is particularly suitable for someone who has already gained practical experience in loan processing, client finance, loan settlements or credit assessment and is ready to take the next step into a formal Finance Broker position.
