Chatterbox Café is a local favourite in Werribee, known for our great coffee, friendly service, and welcoming atmosphere. We're on the lookout for an experienced and passionate Chef to join our team.
This is a full-time role (4-5 days per week, including both weekend days) with early starts (6:00am-3:30pm) - perfect for someone who loves having their afternoons free!
You'll be part of a tight-knit kitchen team of 4-5, working in our open kitchen where speed, consistency and presentation matter.
Duties include:- Food preparation and cooking across a busy breakfast and lunch service
- Managing multiple dockets during peak hours
- Handling specific dietary requirements with care
- Stock control and ordering
- Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards
- Communicating effectively and working as part of a strong team
We are looking for someone who demonstrates:- 5+ years' experience as a Chef, ideally in a café or breakfast/short-order environment
- Strong knowledge of modern café cuisine and excellent plating skills
- Speed, efficiency and organisation under pressure
- A calm, positive attitude and pride in consistent, high-quality food
- A solid understanding of food safety, hygiene and quality control
- A genuine morning person who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen
