The Trustee for Ash Family Trust T/A Tikka N Tandoor is currently looking for Cook to join their team in Coomera.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Prepare and cook authentic Indian dishes according to established recipes and restaurant standards.
- Ensure consistent taste, quality, and presentation of all food items.
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, marinating, grinding spices, and making sauces and curries.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Monitor food quality and freshness, discarding expired or spoiled ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, utensils, and workstations ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, utensils, and workstations in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Store food properly to maintain freshness and prevent contamination.
- Manage inventory by checking stock levels and informing management when supplies need replenishment.
- Minimize food waste through proper portion control and efficient food preparation.
- Assist in planning menus and developing new dishes when required.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and service of orders.
- Follow health, safety and sanitation standards always.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and local food safety regulations.
- Handle customer dietary requirements and food allergies when preparing meals.
- Support senior chefs during busy service periods and assist in training junior kitchen staff if required.
We are seeking a passionate cook with at least one to two years hands-on experience ideally in an Indian restaurant. Must be confident with fast-paced service, quality control of premium ingredients, gluten free/dietary adjustments, and teamwork across kitchen and floor operations.
Applicants must have:- Formal qualification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate III or higher).
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
- Creativity and passion for culinary arts.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience.
- Good Communication and teamwork skills.
A salary of $79,000 - $85,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
