    About the Role

    We are seeking an experienced and trade-qualified Cook Grade 3 to join our team on a full-time basis. The applicant must have at least two years of relevant experience and a qualification related to Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management.

    In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals while maintaining food quality, kitchen hygiene, and workplace safety. You will work independently during shifts, lead station prep, coordinate kitchen workflow, and mentor junior kitchen team members.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Prepare, cook, and present a variety of menu items to consistently high standards.
    • Ensure all dishes follow standardized recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines.
    • Oversee food quality, stock rotation, and raw ingredient freshness using FIFO principles.
    • Assist with inventory control, stocktaking, and ordering to minimize food waste.
    • Maintain clean, hygienic, and safe kitchen areas strictly complying with WHS and Food Safety regulations.
    • Safely operate and maintain commercial kitchen equipment, reporting faults when needed.
    • Work efficiently under pressure during peak service periods while upholding food standards.
    • May also provide day-to-day guidance to junior kitchen staff and kitchen assistants.
    Requirements and Qualifications:
    • Diploma of Hospitality Management, Certificate IV in Kitchen Management, or Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or recognised equivalent).
    • Minimum of 2 years proven experience
    • Deep understanding of food safety standards (HACCP), hygiene regulations, and prep techniques.
    • Proven capability to lead shifts, organize prep lines, and work under fast-paced conditions.
    • Strong team spirit, clear communication, and leadership/mentoring skills.
    • Ability to work a flexible full-time roster, including weekends and morning shifts as required.
