Parsons Group is currently seeking an experienced Carpenter to join their team in North Fremantle in a full time role.
Key Responsibilities:- Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications and site instructions.
- Measure, mark, cut, shape and assemble timber, plywood, lightweight steel, wallboard and other building materials.
- Construct, erect and install timber wall frames, roof frames, floor framing, partitions and other structural components.
- Carry out carpentry work for new builds, renovations, repairs and alterations across residential and commercial projects.
- Install roofing components, cladding, doors, windows, skirting boards, architraves and other internal and external fixtures.
- Use, maintain and store carpentry hand tools, power tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Check completed work for measurements, accuracy, alignment, finish and compliance with construction plans, specifications and quality standards.
- Identify and report site hazards, comply with WHS requirements, use PPE correctly, and maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Coordinate with the site supervisor, builders, subcontractors and other trades regarding work schedules, materials, site access and project requirements.
- Complete assigned work within required timeframes while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
Requirements:- Relevant trade qualification, such as Certificate III in Carpentry, or an equivalent recognised overseas carpentry qualification.
- At least one year of relevant full-time work experience as a Carpenter or in a closely related carpentry role.
- Competent and safe use of carpentry hand tools, power tools and associated equipment.
- Sound understanding of Australian WHS requirements, safe work practices and hazard identification.
- Current Construction Induction Training Card (White Card), or the ability to obtain one before commencement.
- Working at Heights training or ticket is preferred where required for the projects.
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport are preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a construction team.
The successful applicant will be offered a salary of $80,000 - $82,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on skills and experience.
