Proudly Australian and privately owned company, Unique Metals Laser's history stretches back to 1972. Unique Metals Laser provide high precision cutting and fabrication solutions to a variety of industries. We have 8 sites across Australia, with our corporate office located in Coopers Plains, Queensland.
We are currently seeking to fill multiple full time roles within our company, including:- Sheetmetal Tradesworker
- Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson
- Metal Machinist (First Class)
- Metal Fabricators
Sheetmetal Tradesworker
Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role, and also hold a Certificate III in Engineering.
Duties and Responsibilities include:- Welding and fabrication of various works
- Aluminium, Stainless and Mild steel welding - Mig and Tig
- Interpret drawings and specifications
- Fit and assembly of components into final products by welding, riveting, or otherwise joining
- Performing QA checks
- Polishing, filing, sanding, TIG brush, or cleaning assembled products
Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson
Applicants must have at least 2 years' experience in a similar role.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Prepare, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
- Prepare plans with detailed drawings that include project specifications and cost estimates
- Design and execute engineering experiments to create solutions
- Develop engineering diagrams and technical reports
- Complete required technical and regulatory documents
Metal Machinist
Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Setting and operating a CNC machine
- Reviewing job specifications and analysing drawings
- Ensuring component quality
- Using precision measuring instruments
- Materials handling
- Operating a forklift
- Ad hoc tasks as directed by Production Manager
Metal Fabricators
Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Review technical drawings, plans and specifications to determine fabrication requirements
- Take measurements and prepare metal materials for cutting and fabrication
- Use workshop tools and equipment to cut, bend, shape and prepare metal
- Fit and position components accurately prior to welding
- Carry out welding, bolting and other methods of joining metal components
- Grind, smooth and clean finished welds and fabricated surfaces
- Check finished work to ensure it meets required measurements, specifications and quality standards
- Keep tools, equipment and the work area clean, safe and well organised
The successful applicants for the above roles will be offered a salary between $78,000 - $80,000.
