Duraquip is a 100% Australian-owned business dedicated to supplying quality, innovative Transport Equipment solutions for the Transport, Mining, Agricultural, Industrial and Earthmoving Industries.
We are currently looking for a technically skilled and detail-oriented Designer to join our team in Forrestdale, Perth.
This is an exciting opportunity for a mechanical designer/drafter who enjoys turning ideas into accurate, practical designs and working closely with engineering, production and fabrication teams.
You'll play an important role in creating 2D technical drawings, 3D models and detailed fabrication documentation for metalwork parts, assemblies and sheet metal components.
About the Role
Your days will be varied, with responsibilities including:- Create accurate 2D technical drawings and 3D models using Solid Edge.
- Develop detailed designs for metalwork parts, assemblies and sheet metal components.
- Work closely with engineers and fabricators to ensure designs are practical, functional and manufacturable.
- Apply your knowledge of welding, fabrication and metalwork design principles.
- Maintain drawing, model and document revisions to a high standard.
- Assist with other engineering and design activities as required.
- Help ensure design documentation supports efficient and accurate production.
About You
We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:- A Mechanical Engineering, Drafting or related qualification - Certificate, Diploma or Degree.
- Proven experience in mechanical drafting/design.
- Strong proficiency in Solid Edge, including 2D drafting and 3D modelling.
- Sound understanding of metalwork design, fabrication, welding and sheet metal processes.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- The ability to communicate effectively with engineers, fabricators and other team members.
- Good written and spoken English communication skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards for mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
