About Us
Located in the scenic Gold Coast Hinterland along the Coomera River, Historic Rivermill Cafe offers a unique dining experience surrounded by heritage charm and natural beauty. Serving delicious, high-quality breakfast, brunch, lunch, and catered events, our kitchen prides itself on fresh ingredients, efficiency, and exceptional culinary standards. We are looking for a skilled, passionate Chef to join our team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, prepare, and cook high-quality dishes for our breakfast, brunch, lunch, and event menus in accordance with cafe standards.
- Develop new seasonal menu items, daily specials, and function menus that align with our venue's theme and customer preferences.
- Monitor kitchen operations, maintain high food consistency, and supervise kitchen staff and apprentices during service.
- Manage food inventory, assist with stock ordering, rotate stock, and manage supplier relationships to control food costs.
- Strictly enforce and maintain food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety (WHS) standards across all food prep and cooking areas.
- Manage food portioning, minimize kitchen wastage, and maintain kitchen machinery and equipment.
Requirements & Qualifications:- Education: Relevant Commercial Cookery Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 12 months of full-time, post-qualification experience as a Chef in a busy cafe, restaurant, or high-volume dining venue.
- High proficiency in commercial kitchen operations, food prep speed, menu execution, and dietary/allergen management.
- Excellent leadership, time management, communication, and teamwork skills.
A salary of $75,000 - $85,000 per annum + superannuation will be offered to the successful candidate.
